Accounts Assistant

The Role:
A vacancy has arisen to join a leading internet business within the motorsport industry. Motorsport Tools UK Ltd are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Administrator who is looking for a more varied accounts role. Based in Pwllhelli, North Wales, the position reports directly to the Management Accountant. Your primary responsibility will be to meet the day-to-day demands of the Accounts Payable function but you will also provide resolution to queries, analysis of supplier costs, cash flow forecasting and assist with producing weekly finance reports

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily management of the Accounts Payable function
  • Posting of supplier invoices within agreed deadlines
  • Resolution of supplier queries in a timely manner
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Provide weekly payment projection for payment runs within agreed deadlines
  • Preparation of payment runs
  • Issue remittances
  • Creation and posting of accrual and prepayment journals
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Daily cash forecasting
  • Sales/Nominal Ledger Maintenance
  • Produce customer statements
  • Review supplier spend and challenge costs where appropriate
  • Ownership of refunds and returns
  • Assist with implementation of new finance system
  • General accounts housekeeping
  • Ad-hoc support as necessary

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • AAT Studier
  • Strong Accounts Payable experience essential (2 years minimum)
  • Previous experience of accruals, prepayments and journals essential
  • Good numerical skills and attention to detail a prerequisite
  • Intermediate Excel skills (VLookUp, Pivot tables)
  • Experience of using SharePoint, Teams and Volo software would be advantageous
  • Have the ability to manage, plan and prioritise own workload to meet critical deadlines
