Social Media Manager

F1 is looking for a Social Media Manager to lead the ideation, production, distribution and optimisation of content across our social media channels.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the ideation, production, distribution and optimisation of content across F1’s social media channels in line with the strategy developed by the Senior Social Media Manager and supporting agencies.
  • Support the Senior Social Media Manager in development of strategies to increase global and regional follower growth, engagement, and overall content performance against defined KPI’s and benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders – including communications, editorial and audio teams, video production, commercial partnerships and race promotion – to create, promote and distribute content in line with wider business objectives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between F1 and its appointed social media agency, teams and drivers with regards to social media content.
  • Support the social media manager in the delivery of localisation programmes and activities with a particular focus on Chinese social media platforms.
  • Assist F1’s community management activities with the goal of reducing harmful social media abuse on our platforms.
  • Where required assist in the delivery of content output for F1’s adjacent categories including Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy.
  • Develop processes and optimisations to ensure F1’s content output maintains the highest possible editorial standards and production values
  • Work in a highly pressurised environment, producing outstanding work to tight deadlines and responding calmly and positively to a changing live environment
  • Work weekends, potentially with travel, and provide services at the majority of races on the F1 calendar

About You

  • High-calibre social media executive, with experience conceiving, producing and distributing social media content and has worked as part of a digital news team or sporting organisation.
  • Adept at understanding what makes creative powerful and effective, both at strategic and production levels, and can translate this into engaging and dynamic moving content, to work across different channels and audience segments.
  • Superb organisation and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Substantial experience in social media content planning and distribution for large audiences.
  • An expert knowledge of Formula 1 and informed interest in a wide range of other sports and entertainment. Knowledge of F1’s output, particularly online & digital.
  • Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise work effectively on a series of simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to apply sound judgement in the course of identifying and implementing the best possible production solutions, advising senior staff accordingly.
  • Experience of a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail in all forms of work.
  • Best in class experience of working with and servicing internal and external clients and accounts.
