About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity in our Communications Team for a Social Media Executive for one of the world’s leading sports franchises. We are aiming to set the standard in social media and across the digital ecosystem and we are looking for the right candidate to deliver that ambition.

As one of the main administrators of the social media channels of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, you will be part of a core team who is responsible for the content output of the eight-time F1 world champions. You will have the opportunity to engage and entertain an audience of over 25+ million people across the world’s leading digital platforms.

The successful candidate will be passionate about digital content, buzzing with new ideas and an enthusiastic follower of Formula One, who is able to translate the inside story of our challenge for the world championship into compelling content, in line with our Brand Values and those of our Team Partners.

Purpose and Key Deliverables: 

  • Be a key part of an active, engaged and enthusiastic group who delivers our tone of voice and brand values through our social content.

  • You need to be capable of posting to our channels and delivering live race weekend coverage, both on-site and remotely.

  • Take an active role in the creative process for content ideas for our channels, including working with internal and external content producers across all media types on and off track.

  • Briefing content creators to ensure output is aligned with key objectives.

  • Alongside the other members of the core social media team, you will be responsible for growth and engagement on our social media channels, providing insight to reporting and analytics.

  • Monitoring the latest social media trends and developments to ensure the team’s activities are leading edge, while generating and implementing key learnings from analytics to drive performance improvements.

  • Assist in the delivery of partner digital rights on the Team’s social media in coordination with other members of the Communications Team and the Partner Services Team.

  • Coordinate closely with external stakeholders, including driver teams, shareholders and territory specific channels, to ensure alignment with overall company and brand strategy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive understanding and experience of social media platforms, trends and best practices.

  • Focused on curating social-first content, from video to high quality and exciting imagery.

  • A channel manager who has worked with major sports team or leading brands.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and strong team mind-set, including experience of working within a team of digital content producers as well as internal teams.

  • High level of Formula One knowledge and enthusiasm.

  • Flexibility in working hours and willingness to travel to Grands Prix and other events.
