Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The Sr. Marketing Communications Specialist should be a well-organized and creative individual that likes to wear many hats and have ownership of projects while maintaining the visual identity of the brand. Toray Advanced Composites is a manufacturer of highly technical materials used in a wide variety of markets such as aerospace, motorsports, and recreational equipment. Familiarity with technical terms, units of measurement, conversions, and engineering concepts will help in this role.

  • Work closely with global marketing team to ensure brand guidelines and style guides are strictly followed on all branded communication materials.
  • Responsibility for final proofreading and copy management.
  • Help manage the creation of materials needed for commercial efforts, providing input on design template, copy messaging, image use, etc. Including but not limited to advertising, product literature, and convention booth graphics. This may involve creating graphics directly yourself or outsourcing design to contractors or vendors.
  • Help manage the Data Sheet suite of literature, making updates requested from the technical teams and tracking all changes according to the quality control system requirements.
  • Support the website via the CMS system to ensure it is up to date with the most current literature and news updates. Additional web experience is a strongly desired.
  • Manage all regional trade shows logistics (8-10 per year) and help support large trade show activities (2-3 per year) related to attendee registrations, hotel reservations, show contracts, show services, booth logistics, budget, and on-site needs.
  • Manage inventory of all trade show assets, sample products and materials, promotional materials, and printed literature.
  • Manage marketing inbox and fulfill requests related to literature, technical data, and other items.
  • Support the marketing team with creative development of new campaigns, product launches and branding needs.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Approximately 20% travel required to trade shows and meetings.
  • Highly creative with new ideas and approaches to needs of the business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to execute marketing plans against timelines and deliverables.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task required.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated abilities and willingness to wear “multiple hats” and perform a wide range of tasks within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience keeping a budget and tracking expenses.
  • Strong personal organization skills and the ability to prioritize, multitask and manage priority shifts.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA or equivalent in Graphic Arts, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • 5 years’ minimum previous marketing experience, preferably in a technical industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency using design software (Adobe Illustrator, In Design, and Photoshop) required.
  • Experience in trade show event management preferred.
  • Experience working with brands and creating marketing materials.
  • Experience in website, html, and/social media platforms desired but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Require to perform lifting tasks of up to 35 pounds for short durations.
  • Duties of this job may involve standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.
