Logistics / Stores Operative

For the next 6 years as part of McLaren’s Track 22 plan, we are looking to invest £1 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 15 all-new cars or derivatives during this period.

We now have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional Logisitcs Operative, to join our Motorsport Logistics team. You will be responsible for ensuring a smooth flow of parts deliveries between our two manufacturing facilities.

Purpose of the role:

Working within a developing team manufacturing GT race cars, this role will be to support the logistics team between our main production facility, and the build location. Collecting and delivering parts as instructed by the Logistics Team Leader. Occasional stores work as and when required.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Implement controls to ensure errors, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
  • Manage the materials that are delivered in such a way to ensure readiness and availability
  • Van driving between MAL sites and suppliers
  • Ensuring all maintenance is kept up to date for any vehicles in use, including forklifts
  • Work with the wider Logistics team to drive process improvements

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • SAP experience preferred or working knowledge with a similar MRP/ERP business systems.
  • Possess a relevant professional qualification and/or suitable background experience in internal logistics operations.
  • Participated in a team orientated environment
  • Strong and consistent approach to driving processes.
