Banquet Staff/Bartender

SUMMARY:

The Banquet Server/Bartender reports to the Banquets Operations Manager and provides food and beverage service, and guest attention for all logistics of banquet events. The Banquet Server/Bartender stays in contact with the Banquets Operations Manager, Assistant Manager, or Banquet Captain throughout the event to ensure the highest guest/member satisfaction possible to ensure a successful event while maintaining the Club’s standards for excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Work as a team with General Manager, Banquet Operations Manager, Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef, and Banquet Sales Team to maximize revenue, problem solve, and create a five-star Club experience.

Events

  • Performs serving order and orchestrates its completion in a timely, quiet and courteous manner.
  • Greet guests/members in a warm and courteous manner.
  • Respond to guests needs in a timely manner. Communicate problems/issues to the Banquet Manager.
  • Observes guests/members to try to keep ahead of service and requests and anticipate their needs.
  • Ensure that any and all Food and Beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to the standards, and noting any special requests and instructions set out in the Banquet Event Order.
  • Adhere to Club procedures and methods for handling cash, credit cards, and checks.
  • Treat fellow employees with respect and dignity, maintaining a friendly and professional attitude.

Equipment

  • Maintain high standard of appearance of your assigned area & equipment through regular inspections.
  • Develop innovative and creative décor for Banquet function space.
  • Assist in maintenance all banquet equipment – linens, china, glassware, flatware, tables, chairs, equipment. Alert Banquet Manager of need areas in equipment.
  • Assist in cleaning of all banquet areas – to include function rooms, hallways, service areas, and Restaurant area (when being used for banquet functions)
  • Handle incoming and outgoing boxes and exhibit materials, as needed.
  • Minimize misuse and breakage of china, glassware, linen and supplies and ensure that no re-usable goods are wasted.
  • Any other duties that may be required.

Set-up

  • Assist with set up of event space – Including drawing diagrams, placing tables/chairs/equipment.
  • Final touches on the space prior to the event – ensuring client’s expectations are met or exceeded. Pay attention to the details.

General/Administrative

  • Administrative tasks may include the facilitation of reports, point of sale procedures, and inventory.
  • Performing daily walk-thru in banquet department and all function space and storage rooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations.
  • Maintaining a high energy, positive attitude, and a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be flexible with the work schedule which can vary and can include extended hours, some nights, weekends and holidays.

Preferred Experience & Certifications: TIPS CertificationServSafe Certification. Minimum of 1 year banquet related experience. Knowledge of ClubEssential software is a plus.
