Role Overview

The Vehicle Engineering team is looking for an exceptional Attribute Expert to lead Aerodynamics, HeVAC, Cooling and Occupant Comfort for EV passenger vehicles. This role will report directly to the Chief Engineer of Vehicle Engineering and will be responsible for developing system level and whole vehicle targets and leading the development of integrated and efficient vehicle designs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to Designers to optimize aerodynamic, heat management and passenger comfort performance.
  • Develop and validate airflow management features.
  • Work with design, module groups, suppliers to execute efficient aerodynamic designs.
  • Identify and develop creative solutions to resolve styling/aerodynamic and thermal conflicts.
  • Innovate, develop, and improve processes.
  • Interpret test results, propose recommendations for improvement and how changes will make an impact.
  • Design aero parts, prepare for, and conduct, scale model and full-scale wind tunnel tests.
  • Document and present findings to cross-functional teams and engineering management
  • Support key milestones at each phase of the project.
  • Become the Aero, Thermal and Comfort subject matter expert at Fisker.

Requirements

  • >7 years’ experience in product development with focus on Air flow, HeVAC & Thermal management
  • BS/MSc Degree in relevant engineering subject 
  • Proven track record of ability to define, manage and deliver system & vehicle level targets
  • Working experience of Environmental Test Chamber & Aerodynamic facilities
  • Good understanding of fluid dynamics and simulation software
  • Environmental testing experience, including instrumentation, data acquisition and data processing
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experienced in the Interpretation of customer quality data (e.g., JD Power).
  • Familiarity with Premium automotive sector, products & features
  • Experience of competitor vehicle benchmarking (physical & web-based)

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run
  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals
