CAD Business Partner - Aerodynamics

Our IT engineering systems are right at the heart of our design process and critical to our rate of development. In this role you will be a key member of the IT department, operating as business partner for the aerodynamics team to ensure we are achieving maximum performance from NX and associated systems - providing support, development and training. The role will also require close collaboration with other key functions including vehicle design, CAD/CAM, and manufacturing Systems.

Key operational duties:

• Work closely with the aerodynamic Heads of Departments to help identify areas for development.
• Liaise and work with the rest of IT Engineering Systems to ensure joined up thinking and development.
• Develop new methodologies and support customised tool creation / updates including user acceptance testing
• Provide at-elbow support within the aerodynamics office and facilitate training and mentoring.
• Support larger site wide projects with focus on delivering success for aerodynamics

Essential Skills / Credentials

• Experienced NX User, with knowledge of surfacing functions and including Knowledge of NX9 or later (Ideally NX-1847 Series).
• Teamcenter user
• Self-motivated individual, capable of working across groups to develop and implement innovative solutions under time pressure
• Excellent communicator and team player
• Flexibility to work extended hours or cover out of hour’s upgrades or outages when necessary

Ideal Skills / Credentials
• NX installation, configuration, patching and monitoring.
• Basic scripting.
• Support and training experience, including awareness of the process of working with Siemens support
• Familiar with fast paced environments, experience of F1 ideal but not essential.
• Experience of other areas of NX such as general modelling, assemblies etc.
• Awareness of any other NX tools / 3rd party tools would be useful but not essential:
o Rapid surfacing and Global deformation
o Vis Mockup
o Handling and manipulating point cloud data
o Experience in Geomagic
• SharePoint and Microsoft Teams creation and administration.
