Ever since, STARD is the group´s advanced R&D specialist department, processes all in-house cutting-edge research, development, assembly, test & race activity of:

  • FIA certified HV battery systems with world-leading power densities
  • High performance E-Motor, Inverter and transmission packages

Job Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

With regards to our latest projects we are looking for a skilled and dedicated senior development engineer, experienced in motorsport or high performance automotive applications.  Selection of associated activities include:

  • Leading role in entire vehicle and other development projects
  • Involvement in the entire development process from conception to in-field/ on-track engineering (Testing, Race)
  • Vehicle and assembly conception according to technical regulations
  • High amount of CAD Design Activity (packaging, component design, optimization)
  • Coordination of optimization of new and existing developments by use of simulation tools (FEA, CFD,…)
  • Improvement of existing and development of new layout and optimization routines/tools
  • Performance optimization of subsystems and entire vehicles prototypes
  • Involvement in functionality, performance and endurance tests & on site race activity


  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or similar qualification
  • Relevant Experience in Motorsport development or high performance automotive development
  • Innovative and creative mind
  • Excellent CAD knowledge (Catia V5-6 preferred)
  • Further CAE experience preferred (FEA, CFD, Matlab, MBS,…)
  • Knowledge and understanding of motorsport and/or road car regulations (FIA ; ECE R-100)
  • “In-Field” experience e.g. as race or test engineer beneficial
  • Perfect English skills (verbal & read/write)
  • Above average commitment, as usual in competitive high performance development & motorsport
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and social skills
  • Target oriented approach & ability to work independently
  • Covid 19 vaccination status: irrelevant

Terms of Employment

  • Long-term full time employment based in Austria, Vienna
  • Initial temporary “Fly-in” option (Company owned modern Apartments available at head office location) possible
  • Role and business appropriate competitive salary
