Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

STARD is the group´s advanced R&D specialist department and processes a wide spectrum of cutting-edge research, development, assembly, test & race activity in-house, including:
- High performance FIA certified HV powertrain & battery systems
- High performance E-Motor, Inverter and transmission systems
- Internal combustion engine ECU software development & calibraiton
- Internal combustion powertrain system development & integration
- Hybrid powertrain system development
- Complete E/E systems for ground, aerial, and marine vehicles
- ECU/VCU software and calibration incl. advanced control systems such as 4WD torque vectoring strategies

Job Description
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
With regards to our latest projects we are looking for a skilled and dedicated senior development engineer, experienced in motorsport or high performance automotive applications. Selection of associated activities include:
- Leading role in entire vehicle and other development projects
- Involvement in the entire development process from concept to final vehicle build
- Vehicle and assembly concept development according to technical regulations
- High amount of CAD Design Activity (packaging, component design, optimization)
- Coordination of optimization of new and existing developments by use of simulation tools (FEA, CFD,…)
- Improvement of existing and development of new layout and optimization routines/tools
- Performance optimization of subsystems and entire vehicle prototypes
Profile
- Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or similar qualification
- Relevant Experience in Motorsport development or high performance automotive development
- Innovative and creative mind
- Excellent CAD knowledge (Catia V5-6 preferred)
- Further CAE experience preferred (FEA, CFD, Matlab, MBS,…)
- Knowledge and understanding of motorsport and/or road car regulations (FIA ; ECE R-100)
- “In-Field” experience e.g. as race or test engineer beneficial
- Perfect English skills (verbal & read/write)
- Above average commitment, as usual in competitive high performance development & motorsport
- Excellent communication, teamwork and social skills
- Target oriented approach & ability to work independently
- Covid 19 vaccination status: irrelevant
Terms of Employment
- Long-term full time employment based in Austria, Vienna
- Initial temporary “Fly-in” option (Company owned modern Apartments available at head office location) possible
