Senior LabVIEW Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic multi-disciplined Senior Controls & Systems Engineer to be able to work across all Aero functions with a specific focus on devising, developing and implementing improvement projects in our Aerodynamic Test Facilities.

 

As a Senior Controls & Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Create and develop wind tunnel, model and car systems aimed at improving aerodynamic test techniques and capabilities.
  • Conduct fair and representative tests of new techniques, reporting results and progress to the wider department and team.
  • Develop an awareness of new technologies across all relevant disciplines.
  • Manage large scale development projects, focusing on delivering new capabilities to our test environments.
  • Provide maintenance support and cover to the existing wind tunnel systems

Required Skills

  • 3-5 years industry experience using NI LabVIEW and NI Real-Time PXI
  • PLC programming experience with knowledge of data networks such as Ethercat, CAN
  • Excellent team player and communicator, able to work effectively across multiple groups.
  • Highly analytical and capable of approaching challenges with a new perspective.
  • Able to work at a fast pace and with a high degree of accuracy and flexibility.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Experience in source code control (e.g. GIT Azure DevOps)
  • Self-starter, able to be proactive in identifying problems/risk and providing solutions. Considering all aspects (Cost, Risk, time etc)

Optional Skills:

  • Wind tunnel experience would be advantageous, as would experience within a motorsport environment.
  • Certified LabVIEW Embedded Developer (CLED) would be advantageous but not required
  • PLC’s, electronics systems and data acquisition would be advantageous.
  • Certified LabVIEW developer/architect (CLD/CLA) would be advantageous but not required.
