Purpose of Role

To primarily support the security systems at The McLaren Technology Centre and remote sites. The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate exemplary skills in fault diagnoses and the repair/replace of electronic security equipment in situate and difficult locations. Timely response to breakdowns is critical as well as the undertaking of more regular duties such as computer software administration. The role will also require working with other building systems such as access control, fire, BMS and commercial lighting systems.

Role Dimensions

This is a full-time position, based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. Working in a team of 2 others, with no direct reports. The prospective candidate will be required to provide occasional support out of normal working hours, normally by remote connection, however must also be prepared to respond on site during emergencies.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain and repair all McLaren security systems
  • Train and assist security stake holders in the operation and capability of the CCTV system
  • Ensure CCTV systems adhere to GDPR and statutory standards of operation
  • Respond to car park barrier failures as well as support integrated ANPR functionality
  • Administer a multifaceted and integrated access control system
  • Work with other discipline technicians on building and alterations projects
  • Manage subcontractors ensuring a safe working environment and quality of workmanship

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Competency of specialist video management software
  • Some understanding of IT networking & communication technologies
  • Experience with access control systems

Preferable:

  • Experience with large access control systems
  • Knowledge of Honeywell Galaxy intruder alarm systems
  • Access control database management skills
  • Experience with card printers and printing
