Purpose of Role

The Project Leader will be responsible for planning and overseeing all retailer showroom and facility projects and the upgrade programme for the existing retailer network. They will work closely with the Regional Teams, Retailers and Suppliers based across the globe, to ensure retail & Service Centre developments are completed on time and to the highest standards expected in the luxury automotive Industry.

Reporting into the Network Development Manager the appointed Project Leader will be responsible for ensuring all key milestones in the project plans are met, working with our retailer partners and manage the Implementation plans, weekly project calls, and supplier procurement schedules.

Communication and organisation are critical to this role, the Project Leader ensures all retailer projects are managed effectively from Initial design to completion.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Project Manage from design through to execution, control, and effective closure of all McLaren Retailer projects, encompassing both new Retailer appointments and upgrades of existing Retailer facilities
  • Be the principle contact for all suppliers, internal and external stakeholders involved in McLaren Retailer developments
  • Monitor supplier orders, quotes, and scheduled delivery dates
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and report on status
  • Escalate any delays or shortfalls in supplier performance
  • Maintain a detailed tracker showing the status of all on-going projects and performance against key milestones
  • Lead the continued development and documentation of Retail Design Processes
  • Ensure that Retailers are surveyed post project completion and results are distributed to key stakeholders
  • Undertake a thorough ‘lessons learned’ review after each project as part of the continual improvement process, making recommendations to further enhance processes
  • Ensure all project 'Close Out' reports are completed, and each project Is delivered to the highest possible standard
  • Support and coordinate with Visual Merchandising and showroom setup, merchandising, so that showrooms comply to McLaren Display Guidelines.
  • Produce a weekly management report on the status of all live projects
  • Maintain project files ensuring all documentation is recorded and all records are up to date)
  • Establish and maintain effective working relations with key stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Work closely with the Network Development Team to monitor and report on industry trends
  • Ensure digital content is kept up to date and refreshed in global McLaren Retailer showrooms

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Educated to degree level
  • Prior Project Management experience
  • Detail oriented with excellent project management and organizational skill set
  • Understanding of retail motor Industry and franchising agreements
  • Strong IT skills with experience in using Microsoft Office products Inc Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
  • Proven communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to act under pressure with calmness and clarity of thought
  • High level of interpersonal skills with proven ability to influencing various stakeholders
  • Experience in producing compelling and concise management reports
