Purpose of Role

To join McLaren Automotive to coordinate the delivery of the electronics systems within assigned project(s), responsible for the hardware (ECUs) and the software components from the concept phase to the SOP + 90 days. Working as part of a matrix structure with the project manager (functional management) and the Electronics department (line management).

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for all the vehicle electronics technical deliverables (attributes, DVP, DFMEAs, Part Release,...) of the project, in accordance to the McLaren Development Process (MDP) and ISO26262 requirements.  
  • Responsible for the Electronics commercial deliverables (D&D/Tooling/BOM costs) for the project, in collaboration with the Electronics department Managers.
  • Define the “Electronics” budgets for the project, in collaboration with the project responsible and Electronics department Managers.
  • Represent the “Electronics” department within the project team, reporting information, concerns and milestone achievements in the two ways (from the department to the project and vice versa).

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Team leadership within the automotive industry or similar domain.
  • Electronics architecture experience (harness, CAN/LIN protocols, ECUs, sensors) in automotive.
  • Body/Chassis and Software/Hardware project delivery experience for automotive applications.
  • Supplier partnership management.
  • Automotive market trend knowledge and experience of business model development (e.g. make vs buy).

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Series (Software/Hardware) project delivery for automotive applications.
