Logistics Team Leader

What to Expect

We are recruiting for a Logistics Team Leader to join our fantastic Logistics Operations team in Woking. As the Logistics Team Leader, you will work within the Logistics Operations department, reporting to the Logistics Operations Group Leader. The responsibilities of your role will include managing a team to ensure all materials for production are in the right place, at the right time, every time.

You will be working in a cross-functional setting, you will contribute to overall departmental goals and company profitability by proactively working closely with Stores functions, Quality, Transport drivers and Production to ensure material requirements for all model builds are satisfied in a timely and accurate manner.

Please note this is an on-site position.

    What You'll Do

    As a Logistics Team Leader, you will be:

    • Managing adherence to delivery schedules in line with production requirements, supplier lead times, and warehousing capacities
    • Shift patterns: 05:30 am – 13:45pm and 15:00pm - 23:15pm
    • Continuously being aware of, and pro-actively addressing potential or actual shortages.
    • Participating in Policy Deployment
    • In close liaison with other disciplines within the logistics organisation, as well as other departments especially Warehouse, Quality and Expediter teams
    • Minimising warehouse stock outs through the management of a clear deck policy
    • Effectively Communicating
    • Ensuring health and safety standards are achieved on an ongoing basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety.
    • Reviewing, improving and administering the operating environment through establishing and maintaining housekeeping standards.
    • Following standard operating procedures and actively pursuing the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
    • Ensuring all inbound freight is managed and accounted for into the business.
    • PI –Stock Accuracy
    • Ensuring all discrepancies are dealt with swiftly and resolutely.
    • Issuing parts to the Production line on time, and collection of empty stillages/kanban boxes to be returned to stores for replenishment.
    • Liaising with Production to ensure continued running of line, to respond to any queries regarding lineside shortages and replacement parts quickly and efficiently.
    • Ensuring issues are captured and communicated to the relevant department, and to escalate accordingly.
    • Being responsible for all Health and Safety policy within the area, ensuring Health and Safety reps are advised of any issues.
    • Constantly monitoring lineside/warehouse stock accuracy and resolve issues where necessary.
    • To be responsible for relevant KPI`s as advised
    • To be responsible for stock security ensuring all stock is accounted for, is secure & safe, to aid towards our stock accuracy & cost saving as a business.
    • Team performance management & adherence to company policies & process.
