PURPOSE: To supervise the production and maintenance of IMSA bodywork components, ensuring precision, quality, and compliance with technical specifications to enhance the team's competitive edge in IMSA racing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate build of bodywork.
- Assess condition of bodywork post event and determine what needs addressed.
- Build work list of items that need to be repaired.
- Document post event issues with car.
- Determine what can be repaired in house and what needs to be sent out.
- Preform needed carbon repairs on body work.
- Work with Parts Manager to book parts to repair facility.
- Proper assembly of all components to RLL specifications.
- Details records of nose and tail assemblies
- Weigh all individual pieces as assemblies are built and keep track on build sheet.
- Track shims needed to properly align each nose and tail.
- Ensure all components used in assemblies are the latest or correct specification.
- Ensure all lighting is correctly fitted and functional.
- Organization of IMSA bodywork area
- Isolate all obsolete parts to transfer to storage.
- Work with bodywork manager to structure work list ensuring prompt arrival of parts.
- Prepare all bodywork and spares so they are ready to go onto the car.
- Address all TSI and TI for the bodywork lighting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Required:
- Vocational/Trade School Auto Body/Repair Certificate, or a combination of education and experience
- 1+ year auto body collision/repair experience
- Proficient using all shop/mechanic tools including:
- Set-up tools

- Measuring tools (Vernier calipers and micrometers)
Preferred:
- Knowledge of NDT testing (Magnaflux and Zyglo) a plus
- Knowledge of IMSA rules and specifications a plus
