The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.
Job description:
We have an opportunity for a Graduate Surface Design Engineer to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will Work within a group of highly creative and skilled design engineers to deliver high quality surface geometry models to aid the aerodynamic development of the team’s race cars. Principal Accountabilities:
- Contributing to high quality surface geometry models for CFD, Wind Tunnel and full-size release.
- Work closely with Aerodynamicists and senior members of the Surface Design Team to gain a better understanding the definition and scope of assigned surfaces, including modelling and construction approach.
- Work closely with Model Designers and senior members of the Surface Design Team to assist in delivering efficient implementation of assigned aerodynamic projects.
- Support with the release of aero surface geometry to the full-size car design office.
- Work closely with full-size car designers and senior members of the Surface Design Team to create high quality surface geometry for full-size release.
- Support the implementation of standard design practices.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering / Design / Motorsport) or similar.
- Completed your degree within the past 12 months, or you are scheduled to complete it within the next 12 months.
- Good experience in with 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA).
- Good Knowledge and understanding of surface quality, model layout and robustness.
- Possess a good level of understanding of surfacing and parametric modelling techniques.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
