Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.

Job description:

We have an opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Technician to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will configure and operate the IT infrastructure and cloud services. Provide technical support for complex problems and issues escalated from the Service Desk. Principal Accountabilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, switches, firewalls, appliances and cloud based services.
  • Monitor and manage the organization's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues, both proactively and reactively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and support IT projects, such as system upgrades and migrations.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as backups, patches, and system updates, to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system assets, configurations, interconnections and software licenses.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve the company’s IT environment.
  • Provide 3rd level technical support to the ServiceDesk assisting in the resolution of complex user Issues and Problems.
  • Assist with the configuration, maintenance and operation of the Trackside IT environment as and when requested.
  • Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines are managed correctly and adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • Has a minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within motorsport or engineering industries.
  • Ideally has one or more technology certifications (CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, VCTA, VCP etc)
  • Broad knowledge of network switches, firewalls, servers and other infrastructure appliances
  • Experience of commissioning and configuring Cisco, MS Servers, VMware, Hyper-V, Azure and SAN environments.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Operating Environment including Windows10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure and tools such as In-tune.
  • Competent in the use of VMware and Hyper-V, and Linux.
  • Experience with Scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Shell Scripting, Python, etc
  • Desirable experience with containers and or container orchestration platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes as well as configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, etc
  • Ability to plan and manage own workloads.
  • Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email
  • Ability to prioritise in a time pressured environment and manage personal deadlines
  • Have a “can-do” and flexible attitude towards the variety of tasks that may be assigned.
  • Is self-motivated, innovative and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadliness
  • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture
