Purpose of Role

An opportunity exists for an experienced Fleet Technical Engineer to perform Press and Marketing activities based in Dallas.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To take responsibility for preparing, monitoring, analysing and reporting of activities related to the build quality and performance of the McLaren Automotive Press cars.
  • To sign off the performance and overall quality of vehicles ahead of press activities.
  • To work closely with Engineering/Technician Teams to ensure that vehicles are prepared to the required standard.
  • Resolve and carry out repairs to vehicles where required to ensure vehicles are prepared to the highest standard.
  • Complete repairs to vehicles with faults found at port of entry in Baltimore
  • To represent the Press Team at technical meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Significant experience in automotive performance vehicles, McLaren specific is preferred.
  • Able to apply detailed technical knowledge to the understanding of new technologies, development of engineering designs and resolution of engineering problems.
  • Experience of programme leadership and reporting would be an advantage.
  • Must be proficient with all common Microsoft Office applications including Project
  • Excellent communication skills required, both verbal and written
  • Able to travel worldwide with reasonable notice.
