Account Manager

Role Summary

This is an incredibly exciting and varied role where you be responsible for the day to day management of customers, their requirements and expectations pivotal to the growth of the business. You should be a highly capable, confident individual who can work independently and as part of a cohesive team. A positive, pro-active approach is critical, as is the ability to work to rapidly changing requirements under tight timescales.

The Customer Account Manager will be responsible for the evaluation and quoting of manufacturing complex components and assemblies with a range of customers supported by the internal cross functional team. You will support processing and managing of orders and ensure smooth onboarding and communication of new business from a cost, timing and basic technical scope perspective. You will support the commercial team with regular forecasting for those accounts you are responsible for.

You will promote the business positively and at times you will be responsible for supporting marketing initiatives including events and exhibitions which may involve some limited travel.

Key Objectives:

  • Enable swift response to customer enquires within established company targets.
  • Manage the costing of new business and ensure seamless link between intercompany departments.
  • Develop accurate and competitive quotations to ensure growth of the company.
  • Support the collating of enquiry conversion measures and report KPI’s into the management team.
  • Develop a pipeline of potential growth within existing accounts alongside developing new sales leads.
  • Assist developments into new market sectors and understand customer specific requirements within these sectors.
  • Support loading and processing of new orders into the business including coordination, kick off and contract review.
  • Represent the customer, liaise with internal departments to ensure new orders are on track and to agreed parameters.
  • Develop, undertake and collate customer feedback activities and report into the management team.
  • Secure customer forecasts, schedules and orders and feed into the business using appropriate internal forecast tools.

  • IT literate and good working knowledge of excel and other office applications.
  • Ability to learn engineering and manufacturing basics.
  • Great team working ability.
  • Flexible work attitude and willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable Skills;

  • Knowledge and interest of engineering and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Previous experience working in b2b role within aerospace, automotive, defence or motorsport industries
  • Budget management and estimating experience.
  • Understanding of Composite manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of fabrication manufacturing techniques.

Qualifications and experience;

  • Degree qualified within a business or similar discipline, some technical or engineering aspects would be useful.
  • Strong experience in selling bespoke products to advanced demanding industries such as Aerospace and Automotive
  • Full UK driving license.
