Travelling Composite Technician

The position:
We are looking to recruit a Travelling Composite Technician who will be responsible for conducting the preparation and build of Formula One cars and subcomponents to stringent technical specifications both at the Williams Factory and at events around the world.

The role:
As a Travelling Composite Technician, your key responsibilities will be:

  • To participate the preparation, build and disassembly of F1 cars to Williams standards, both prior to and during events.
  • Ensuring that the composite components comply with the stringent design and specification requirements.
  • Use the Williams business systems to maintain appropriate records of component usage and condition.
  • Working with other team members to ensure the on-time delivery of the F1 cars to the correct specification.
  • Working with other team members, ensure the car, car equipment and garage are maintained and presented to Williams standards.
  • To assist in the identification of any failed car components and participate in the repair or replacement as required.
  • To assist in the identification of any failed pit equipment and participate in the repair or replacement as required.
  • To attend track-based events as organised by the company.
  • Proactively assist the Chief and Number One Mechanics to ensure the workload is completed on time and to the correct standard.
  • Take part in race pit stops and associated training programmes as required.
  • To form a good working relationship with the Chief, Number One mechanic and car crews.
