We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and conscientious new member of staff to join our workshop team here at Lakeside Karting, assisting the mechanics. No mechanical knowledge required - full training provided.
Your main role is to move and clean karts, so you will need to be physically fit. You will complete basic tasks such as building up wheels/tyres and as the role progresses, the right person will be trained in basic mechanics – so good mechanical aptitude would be a strong advantage. There will be times when you will be required to assist the circuit staff out on track or in the pitlane.
This position is suitable for an applicant wanting to work flexible hours at the weekends, on a part-time, ongoing basis. Some weekday shifts may also be available.
Starting Salary: £8-9ph dependant on age and experience
General duties/responsibilities
- Getting karts off racks/out to paddock/packed away
- Jetwashing, detail cleaning, and fuelling karts
- Moving karts to and from workshop/paddock to pitlane
- Kart testing
- Following open and close procedures
- Ensuring the workshop and paddock is kept tidy at all times
- Maintaining Health & Safety standards
- Marshalling the circuit when required/covering lunch breaks

We operate 7 days a week, so shifts will be a mix of weekdays/weekends and daytime/evening shifts depending on bookings and season.
We have 2 sites (Thurrock and Brentwood) and while you will be based at Lakeside for the majority of the time, you will be expected to cover at both as and when required.
Hours will vary between approx. 24 and 30 per week.
