Junior Buyer

Scuderia AlphaTauri is looking for a Junior Buyer to join our Aerodynamic department in Bicester. In this role you'll be responsible for the procurement of set aerodynamic development and general project requirements, as well as service & supply procurement to support the aerodynamic department.

  • PROCUREMENT
    • Procurement of department service & supply requirements, & set project requirements.
    • Process RFQ requests, supply and service requests.
    • Create and maintain purchase orders, confirmation to internal requester and from external suppliers.
    • Investigate new manufacturing methods and other process improvements to implement changes which will benefit the productivity of the department.
  • MANAGEMENT OF EXISTING AND NEW SUPPLIERS Work with external suppliers to ensure technical & scheduling requirements are met and manage relationships with them. Investigate new suppliers and develop a S upplier Base and Process Options, particularly focussed on external manufacturing and supply.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING Timely identification of problems in the supply chain (external) with ideas for solutions: communicate, resolve and report. Highlight and resolve any problems due to delivery, quality, cost,etc.
  • COMMUICATION& FLEXIBILITY Facilitate good communication between all parties involved in the aero testing process. Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
  • FACILITY & LOGISTICS SUPPORT Assist with facilities & logistics management when required, which may include occasional driving duties between the Bicester & Bedford sites and dealing with deliveries.
  • REPORTING Reporting of all current external orders: facilitate, chase, process. Assist with the delivery of metrics including but not limited to production quantities, process cost reports, supplier performance

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Broad understanding of manufacturing & machining methods including additive manufacturing, CNC & ideally composites.
  • Ability to understand & keep track of complex workflow involving multiple stakeholders & hundreds of parts.
  • Understanding of & familiarity with ERP software (e.g. SAP, EPICOR)
  • Ablity to deliver timely information and reporting.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills with different stakeholder at all organizational levels

  • Masters or Bachelor Degree in a related field such as Business, Finance, Accounting or Supply Management
  • Fluency in English
  • Travel up to 25%
