Custodial Assistant

DESCRIPTION

The MSP Custodial Assistant reports directly to the Facilities Coordinator and performs daily custodial service requirements throughout the Motorsports Park. Duties include general cleaning and trash removal, cleaning various building room types and surfaces such as restrooms, lobbies, entrances, park grounds, etc. This position will ensure that facilities are clean and in good operating condition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
  • Perform janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of restrooms.
  • Collect/empty trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Clean glass and doors.
  • Perform all scheduled tasks and projects in a timely manner.
  • Properly use all cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with the MSDS product standards and MSP procedure.
  • Ensure proper use of equipment and safety procedures are followed.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies and maintain proper storage of chemicals and consumables.
  • Properly take care of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with construction and repair projects as needed.
  • Provide assistance with event set-up and clean-up duties and other maintenance duties during events to ensure the safety and satisfaction of guests.
  • Responsibilities are not all-inclusive, additional duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • 1 year of maintenance or related work experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate basic machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and function in a team environment.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to function in physical positions such as standing, stooping, bending, turning, twisting walking, kneeling, squatting, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to loud environmental noise.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move around the Motorsports Park and the community.
