Principal Mechanical Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design complex engineering processes within the water and wastewater industry.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop solutions that adhere to stringent design codes.
  • Lead mechanically biased projects, coordinating efforts across various disciplines.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute technical expertise to project definition briefs.
  • Offer mechanical insights during asset surveys, plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing, and preliminary designs.
  • Provide technical sign-off and assurance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with engineering-based regulatory requirements.
  • Support the testing and development of new technologies for research project implementation.
  • Develop innovative tools to enhance the Engineering team's capabilities.
  • Aid in establishing a 'Centre of Excellence' for engineering.
  • Foster a cohesive, sustainable engineering structure from graduate level to industry experts.


Qualifications:

  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer status.
  • Significant experience in water/wastewater treatment design.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical skills for equipment failure investigations.
  • Experience in developing engineering tools and technologies.
