Wastewater Design Engineer

Our Water technical solutions client is seeking a Wastewater Design Engineer to be based out of their Fleet office in a hybrid working arrangement on wastewater networks projects.

The role is to be based in Fleet with the with flexibility of hybrid working. The candidate should be technically proficient, able to work with own initiative, possess a high level of independence and have excellent communication skills.

You will need at least 2 years' experience in civil engineering design in the UK water industry.

Responsibilities

  • Working with a design team to develop conceptual, outline and detailed design solutions.
  • Problem solving and input to provide factual and interpretative reports.
  • Presenting ideas and concepts to clients and other stakeholders (via Teams, in person, or other medium)
  • On site construction engineering experience (provision and checking of survey data, installation levels etc)
  • Producing construction drawings within a variety of client templates and standards
  • Support bids, fee proposals or offers of service; development of activity schedules/work plans.
  • Development of standard and bespoke network design solutions for the water industry.
  • Meet and exceed quality, programme, budgetary and H&S requirements on projects.
  • Preparing technical papers and presentations
  • Support and/or deliver technical and 'expert witness' investigations and appraisals.

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Educated to minimum HND level with a Civil Engineering qualification preferably.
  • Knowledge of relevant software packages including, AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
  • Computer-literate and able to work effectively work with the basic Microsoft suite.
  • Experience within the water and/or wastewater engineering sector.
  • A sound grasp of key engineering principles.
  • Understanding of water and wastewater rehabilitation construction techniques.
  • Ability to provide a customer-focussed service.
  • Ability to complete assignments on time, within budget and to a high technical standard.
  • Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks.
  • Strong communication, personal effectiveness and team working capabilities.
  • Ability to plan and monitor workloads to achieve project demands.
  • Effectively communicate and co-operate within a project team to support the achievement of a project brief through the provision of efficient and professional services.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues throughout the Company, clients, and suppliers.
  • An ability to act in an outward facing capacity as the client's representative in dealings with their clients and industry regulators.
  • Share both knowledge and experience with other team members.
