Purpose of Role

In an exciting and fast-paced environment, the Vehicle Distribution Coordinator will have responsibility for supporting all aspects of distribution operations within MPC and also the external Logistics Service Provider network, to ensure the on-time, in full, distribution of McLaren finished vehicles in alignment with business targets and objectives. Equally important, this role will also provide analytical and reporting support to the Distribution management team to drive and maintain supplier performance and service levels across the distribution network.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Collaborating with key business units, including Production and Sales, to accurately forecast and plan outbound finished vehicle volumes across all transport modes and delivery regions to support the business objectives and maintain KPI standards.
  • Organise the operational planning and execution of vehicle movements in line with monthly revenue recognition and delivery targets, adapting where required to manage the business changes.
  • Expediting critical vehicle movements with Production and Quality, as well as the distribution chain to ensure on time, in full delivery to the global retailer network.
  • Processing of transit damage claims with logistics service providers, conducting root cause analysis, and identifying and implementing counter measures as required.
  • Coordinating miscellaneous or ad hoc vehicle movements to support other areas of the business where required, including Development, Press & Marketing and Aftersales.
  • Accurate creation and timely submission of booking requests / Bill of Lading instructions to the logistics network to ensure vehicles are customs cleared and depart on schedule.
  • Assessment and processing of original Bills of Lading and insurance certificates for issue to the retailer network.
  • Assisting with monthly freight billing reconciliations to support the monthly submission of costs to the Distribution Manager by collating all supplier paperwork and ensuring they match with the jobs completed within that month.
  • Tracking and tracing of finished vehicles utilising various internal and external monitoring systems to ensure accurate inventory control and vehicle status at all times.
  • Ensuring all SAP system transactions for each vehicle movement are performed in an accurate and timely manner by entering the data received by other members of the team.
  • Accurate archiving of all vehicle distribution documents in both soft and hard copy formats, as applicable.
  • Undertaking other departmental tasks and responsibilities as required in support of the vehicle distribution team.
  • Assisting with stock checks to ensure items are always in stock and available as and when required.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are raised as and when required.
  • Assisting in ensuring that key information relating to regions / retailers is recorded and kept up to date.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar coordinator / planning type role is key.
  • Previous experience within either finished vehicle distribution, manufacturing exporting, or multi-modal freight forwarding is preferable.
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, export documentation and customs formalities
  • Strong Excel skills are required to support the daily activities of the role.
  • IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Analytical and reporting skills within a logistics environment would be highly beneficial.
  • SAP experience is desirable.
