TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Location: Goole
Salary: £14.40/hr (equivalent to £30,000/annum)
Type of role: contract (with an opportunity of role become permanent within 6-12 months)

Our client is a prominent railway infrastructure company committed to excellence in the rail industry. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transport and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for coordinating all transport to and from customer sites, ensuring it aligns with agreed levels of service and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Logistics and Transport:
• Supports the Logistics Manager and work closely with the Import/Export Team, supporting 2 warehouse facilities ensuring licensing and regulatory compliance.

Process definition and Governance:
• Work to and support definition of processes to ensure standards and appropriate governance is in place.
• Ensure Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators for third party logistics providers are monitored.
• Support implementation of new freight lanes to support strategic business growth.
• Maximise use of Siemens transport planning tool for material shipments.
• Adhere to agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s), preparation and checking of shipment documentation, shipment tracking and monitoring.
• Investigating and resolving shipment delivery issues in a timely manner, checking and approval of supplier freight invoices. Support provision of data analysis for production planning and volume studies.
• Participates in process/rating improvement efforts and supplier business reviews.
Assists in developing logistics plans and procedures to drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management:
• Identifies and understands the needs of the immediate and direct customer.
• Focuses on meeting those needs and ensuring both satisfaction and a continuing business relationship.
• Possess a positive can-do attitude, supporting teams as needed and work together to add value and manage challenges.

Experience & Qualifications
• Proven logistics co-ordination experience in a similar role is essential.
• Management and use of MHE.
• Continuous improvement skills and knowledge.
• Supporting teams as needed and work together to add value and manage challenges.
• Excellent communication skills.
• HSE qualification (such as IOSH / NEBOSH) or working towards - advantageous
• FLT license (Or similar MHE) - advantageous
• Experience with SAP (Or similar WMS systems) - advantageous
• Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment - advantageous
• Logistics Management qualification would be advantageous or working towards.
