NASCAR Event Management seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Touring Series Race Director. The Touring Series Race Director reports to the Series Director. The Touring Series Race Director is involved in overseeing the event management process as it relates to on-track activities, race rules, procedures, safety, and schedule. The Touring Series Race Director, working with the Series Director, will work to deliver exceptional experiences for participants, spectators, and sponsors alike.
This position is part-time. It is a field-based role that requires travel to race events.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Develop comprehensive event strategies aligned with the Series’ goals and objectives.

Participate in pre-event calls with the host race track, other NASCAR management, and Broadcasting to coordinate and prepare for the Event.

Participate in pre-event planning with the Series Director to include Official’s Job Assignments and race team Pit Assignments.

Collaborate with race officials and track personnel/management to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Work closely with venue operations and facilities management teams to prepare race tracks and related infrastructure for events.

Coordinate pit road assignments for teams and officials.

Assess potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate adverse impacts on event operations and participant safety.

Conduct post-event debriefings and evaluations to assess event success, gather feedback from stakeholders, and identify areas for improvement.

Provide leadership and direction to ensure smooth coordination and effective communication among team members.

Contribute to all aspects of pre-event and race operations in coordination with the Series Director.

Determine track condition suitability in direct consultation with the Series Director.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Approximate travel 90%.

Proven experience in event management, preferably in motorsport or sports entertainment, with a track record of successful event execution.

Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and innovative approach to event planning and problem-solving.

Proficiency in project management tools, event planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of motorsport regulations, safety protocols, and industry trends.

Passion for motorsport and a commitment to delivering exceptional event experiences.

Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with the race schedule and event calendar.

Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities according to the race schedule and event calendar.
