Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Titchfield, Hampshire
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:15pm
Friday: 7:30am - 11:30am
(Slight flexibility within these hours)
Travel:
Regular travel to UK-based suppliers, ranging from 2 to 300 miles from the Titchfield plant.
Frequency: Once or twice a week, depending on supplier issues.
Role Overview:
Our aerospace client based in Titchfield is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join them on a PAYE contract basis. The initial duration is 3 months with potential for continuous extension.
Essential Functions:
- Evaluate the supply base using Supplier Quality Assessment techniques.
- Approve Suppliers through desktop and/or on-site audits.
- Communicate Regulatory, Customer, and Business requirements to suppliers.
- Develop and deliver training programs.
- Resolve issues with suppliers related to manufacture, quality, handling, and communications.
- Host daily MRB reviews for supply chain non-conforming product received (rotation within the team).
- Manage supplier problems/non-conformances and drive supplier resolution.
- As the team grows, enable supplier on-site audits against quality requirements.
- Ensure supplier assurance against client requirements.
- Provide plant support with NC detection, including containment of detected issues at TF plant and driving containment by the supplier.
- Authorise concessions in line with Company & Customer requirements.
- Update Supplier Metrics and maintain supplier or subcontractor specifications.
- Maintain Supplier SPC records and ERP system.
- Conduct external and internal audits with authority to accept or reject proposed suppliers.
Specialised Knowledge:
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing with knowledge of regulatory requirements (EASA Part 21, AS/EN9100).
- Auditing experience within Electro-Mechanical and Mechanical engineering.
- Supervisory skills for corrective actions and improvement activities.
- Supplier evaluation and development experience, preferably in a lead role.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word; ability to adapt to new business software.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Tactful approach in meetings with Senior Management.
- Qualified Auditor.
- Degree/BTEC/HND in an engineering-related discipline or equivalent experience.
