Summary:
This position provides structural engineering design for primary and secondary metallic and composite aircraft structures.
This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develops structural layouts and concepts
• Develops load paths and initial stress calculations to optimize primary and secondary structure
• Designs and develops primary and secondary structures to meet certification and aircraft requirements
• Conduct Integrated Product Team coordination with systems engineering, manufacturing, production and quality to meet IPT requirements
• Holds design reviews and presentations on various structures of the aircraft
• Interfaces with vendor/suppliers when required
• Ensures adherence to program schedule as well as program cost targets
• Ensures material and standards selection in line with industry norms and meet all regulatory and company requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent years of work experience in lieu of formal education required
• Experience of structural design for certification to part 23 or 25 standards
• Strong skills in CATIA v5 or equivalent 3d modeling tools, Teamcenter or equivalent PLM tool required
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office suites
• Strong working knowledge of aircraft structures design
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge of composite part design and CATIA CPD module
• Experience with CATIA kinematics and fem modules desired
• Systems integration and supplier management
• Proficient in technical requirements writing
• Demonstrated technical communication skills

• High level of communication to ensure all stakeholder requirements are met
• Ability to take ownership of tasks from concept to final design
• Adherence to program targets for recurring and non-recurring cost
• Ability to develop and execute trade studies to enhance airplane technical performance measures
Working Conditions:
1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
3. Must be able to access and inspect all areas of aircraft.
4. Must be willing to travel on occasion to support business needs.
