Specification Essentials
- Degree, HND/C in IT related Subject or relevant experience
- Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA)
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional (or equivalent)
- Extensive IT experience
- AWS experience working with security groups, VPC’s, EKS, EC2, IAM, and S3.
- Comprehensive Terraform experience.
- CloudFormation, Cloud security & compliance
- Knowledge & understanding of fundamental networking principles (TCP/IP, UDP, application, OSI)
- Knowledge of AWS Cloud networking (Direct Connect, VPC’s, Transit Gateways)
- Extensive hands-on Kubernetes experience
- Knowledge of authentication protocols such as SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Understanding of basic DevOps principles
- Helm, GIT, Windows & Linux OS, Jira (or equivalent)
- Ability to work with other teams to fulfil initiative requirements.
Reporting into the Lead Cloud Architect, you will:
- Build, maintain, develop, and support Formula 1’s enterprise cloud platforms.
- Be a senior stakeholder within the team and within projects, providing guidance, best practices, and solutions.
- Work closely with Formula 1’s Information Security team to ensure governance and security compliance is met and maintained.
- Work with cross functional teams to build and maintain multi-site, hybrid Kubernetes platforms.
- Support the Formula 1 Grand Prix events remotely from the Media & Technology Centre in Biggin Hill, looking after the on-premises Kubernetes platforms, and Cloud hosted systems.
- Mentor, provide technical guidance, and support team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
- Utilize Terraform to design and provision infrastructure as code, enabling scalable and repeatable deployment of resources.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline cloud system architectures and enhance collaboration.
- Working closely with the DevOps team to ensure strategic technical objectives are met and system delivery is streamlined.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Continuously research and evaluate new tools and technologies to improve platforms and processes.
- Maintain and update documentation related to infrastructure, deployments, and processes.
- Produce system reports and statistics as required.
- Produce root cause analysis reports in the case of failures and issues.
- Attend meetings when requested.
- Be available to work on systems outside of usual ‘Business Hours’, both planned and any potential unplanned work.
- Keep abreast of developments in Industry and consider proactively how these may be incorporated into the Formula 1 system.
