Accounts Payable Assistant

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to support the purchase ledger process for Williams ensuring we pay suppliers to agreed terms and maintain appropriate controls over company assets.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Processing multi-currency invoices

  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements

  • Dealing with queries, both with suppliers and operational staff

  • Ensure invoices are approved and matched to purchase orders

  • Ensuring non PO invoices have the correct approval

  • Maintaining invoice reporting as required

  • Setting up new and updating the records of existing suppliers

  • Posting general ledger journals prepared by other staff, as required

  • General office support and housekeeping, to include incoming post, office supplies, file management, etc

  • Providing holiday cover for other Finance staff, as required.

  • Such other duties of a similar nature commensurate with the skill and abilities of the post-holder, as determined by the Direct Report.

Requirements for the Role:

  • To be successful in the role, you will have previous purchase ledger experience in a similar role (including experience in 3 way GRN approval)

  • Previous use of the AP functionality within Microsoft Dynamics AX and Medius is preferred, however previous use of AP functionality in an ERP system is essential. Also, previous experience of OCR technology is desirable.

  • You will have exceptional attention to detail, strong IT skills, particularly Outlook & Excel and an appetite to succeed and progress within a dynamic and fast paced environment

  • We are seeking an excellent team player with the ability to also complete tasks independently

  • The successful individual will be personable with strong communication skills and a flexible attitude
