Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.
Job description:
We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - Control Systems to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will provide technical expertise and leadership for the Control Systems group.. At Andretti Global, we aspire to be the absolute best in every aspect of our team. Principal Accountabilities:
- Leading a team of engineers to manage the development, delivery and performant operation of the car control systems and associated tools.
- Provide technical input into all aspects of control systems development including analysis, model-based design, implementation, testing and calibration.
- Generation of technical documentation to cover trackside operation, procedures, and updates.
- Ensure that all software and calibrations fully comply with the FIA technical regulations.
- Declaration of event software versions and calibrations to the FIA.
- Ownership and resolution of control system faults.
- Provide technical support within and outside the group.
- Mentoring junior team members.
- Liaison with suppliers and technical partners.
Requirements
- A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar.
- Extensive experience with the development of electro-hydraulic control systems.
- Experience with model-based software design in a MATLAB Simulink environment, including the setting up tool chains.
- Experience with motorsport data logging systems, preferably F1 SECU and associated tools.
- Experience of tool development with at least one of the following languages: C, C#, Python or MATLAB.
- Experience with automotive electronic systems, CAN and sensing technologies.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors.
- Ability to line manage / lead teams effectively.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
