The position:

A unique opportunity exists for a Junior Design Quality Engineer to join our F1 design office at Williams Racing.

 

We’re seeking a team player with a keen interest in F1 engineering processes and IT applications. The successful candidate will be someone with a desire to develop and document processes and methods that support Vehicle Design, while ensuring the Design output supports the needs of our partner departments.

 

You'll work with colleagues throughout the engineering arm of Williams Racing, including Manufacturing Quality, Race Team, Parts Management, IT and beyond.

 

The role:

  • As Junior Design Quality Engineer you'll be expected to have a technical engineering qualification, experience working with computer systems and experience working with real engineering components, ideally prototype or race car assemblies.

  • Reporting to the Head of Design Quality, this role gives exposure to a breadth of the engineering process in F1 and would suit someone motivated to make their contribution to our increased competitiveness.

  • The role involves problem solving and an interest in organising data and information using software ranging from Microsoft applications, through PLM, ERP and other systems.

  • Working with real engineering parts and assemblies to help guide your approach to problems and enhance your contribution in the role.

  • Training in the software used will be provided.

Desired skills:

  • You have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • An engineering qualification at degree level or equivalent.

  • Some experience of CAD systems, SharePoint, PLM Systems and/or ERP systems will be advantageous.

  • Enjoy problem solving, thinking critically and working with others.

  • Good experience using relevant software applications.
