About Us

Rally Prep specialises in building and maintaining motorsport vehicles. We undertake a wide range of services including:

  • Restoration and Modification- Classic vehicle restoration & specialist road car builds/modification
  • Rally/Road Rally- Build & preparation of modern and historic specification rally cars
  • Speed Events- Car build & preparation for hill climb, sprint, racing or track day use
  • Vehicle Build/Assembly- Bespoke build/assembly of prototype and series production EV and ICE sports vehicles

About the Role

As a vehicle build technician you will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of low volume, high performance vehicle preparation, build and assembly for both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles.

The main elements of the role will include:

  • Complete prototype/low volume & high performance vehicle preparation, build and assembly.
  • Preparation and operation of vehicles for testing and development purposes.
  • Interaction with Design and Engineering teams ensuring project targets are met.
  • Consulting on and resolving build and quality issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Vehicle build and assembly in accordance with manufacture instructions and tolerances
  • Deliver of vehicle builds in accordance with build program deadline.
  • Ensure all works carried out are to the required Quality, Health, Safety and Environment standards at all times
  • Preparation and operation of vehicles for testing and development purposes
  • Interaction with design and engineering teams to realise project targets
  • Consulting on and resolving build and quality issues
  • Manage vehicle build technicians ensuring vehicle assemblies are completed on time to the required quality
  • Support any other required duties of the business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle maintenance or manufacturing discipline
  • Understanding of, and ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of basic inspection and measurement tools
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Computer Literate with knowledge of MS Office suite

Desirable

  • Level 3 or equivalent in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
  • Proven track record in low volume specialist vehicle build or assembly
  • Master vehicle technician
