Part Time Track Services Coordinator

NASCAR Event Management seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Part Time Track Services Coordinator. This will be a field based position and travel to race events will be required.

THIS IS A FIELD/REMOTE POSITION THAT TRAVELS TO RACE EVENTS ACROSS THE U.S.

This position will be responsible for being the NASCAR liaison for Track Services during cation periods on track with guidance from NASCAR race control. The Part Time Track Services Coordinator will ensure that on-track procedures proceed smoothly and correctly. .

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Observes on an active race track during periods of caution (yellow flag) and red flag track incident scenes; acts as a liaison between NASCAR Track Services and the safety crews at the track during these times.
  • Responds to and actively participates in all accidents on-track involving a “roll-over”.
  • Pre-inspects race facilities to ensure adequate supplies, services and personnel are available within Track Services.
  • Trains, develops and maintains a high proficiency of NASCAR procedures.
  • Trains and works with track fire, rescue, towing and restoration personnel.
  • Inspects and oversees servicing of NASCAR fire, rescue and extrication equipment at track. 
  • Attends training sessions provided by various tracks for their Track Services members.
  • Participates in Track Services training seminars at NASCAR's Research & Development Center.
  • Inspects the track's fire and rescue equipment, towing equipment and track clean-up and drying equipment daily.
  • Conducts daily Track Services meetings with the safety crews at the track.
  • Assists with maintaining updated presentations for Track Services.
  • Stay current on relevant training programs and provide updates to the training department as needed.
  • Participate in weekly conference calls / meetings with Track Services Department, as well as pre- and post-event conference calls with facilities.
  • Participate in quarterly Track Services conference calls.
  • Attend Officials'/work-related meetings as scheduled during the year.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of six years of experience as a professional firefighter with extrication experience.
  • Ability to qualify for a NASCAR License.
  • Customer service/people skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% including weekends.
