As our IT Trackside Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support within the areas supported by the IT Trackside Team, enabling robust, efficient and effective delivery of IT services.

About the Role:

  • Responsible for setting up and supporting IT systems for events in (but not limited to) any or all of the following:  Remote Support Room, Test Team, Race Team, Dynos and Simulators.

  • Responsible for all 1st to 3rd line support enquiries and responsible for the escalation and notification of issues requiring further assistance from 3rd Parties or other departments.

  • Setup, configuration, monitoring and decommission of all IT Trackside systems and services.

  • Responsible for the creation of incidents, problems, requests and changes in a timely manner relating to IT Trackside systems and events.

  • Responsible for notifying and updating other members of the team on critical or repeat issues encountered and the resolutions for future benefit.

  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers for key infrastructure services during events (F1/FIA/RIEDEL/WAN Providers).

  • Maintaining updated and relevant documentation of IT Trackside systems with suitable diagrams and configurations to allow easy diagnosis of issues and skill transfer to other members of the IT Trackside Team.

  • Work closely with the IT Trackside Manager to ensure first class service to end users in all IT Trackside areas. Identify improvements to set up and pack up processes and garage equipment.

  • During the season, responsible for maintaining all IT Trackside equipment to a high standard, maintaining stock of spares needed to support events. During the out of season period delivery of winter improvement projects to IT Trackside equipment and services.

  • Monitoring of IT Trackside systems.

To be successful you will have:

Essential skills and experience

  • An enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude.

  • The ability to multi-task effectively and demonstrate good time management.

  • A flexible approach to working hours along with the ability to work on your own initiative, under high pressure and to strict deadlines and communicate with all levels of staff.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including Health & Safety guidelines, environment and security procedures, IT specific policies and procedures, etc.

  • Appropriate prioritisation of workload.

  • Network – LAN, WAN, WiFi, DNS, DHCP, switches, routing and firewalls

  • vmWare ESXi and vCenter

  • Windows Client and Server OS setup, configuration and management

  • Azure suite of applications including Microsoft 365

  • Scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Jenkins or Ansible

  • Monitoring systems

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable skills and experience

  • Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience

  • vmWare VCP or equivalent experience

  • Storage / Hyper Converged Infrastructure

  • ITIL foundation level qualification or higher

  • Mobile device deployment and support

  • Previous motorsport experience including knowledge of MAT product suite – ATLAS, System Monitor etc. – and garage operations
