Internship - Esport Broadcast Producer

Williams Esports, launched in 2018, competes in all the major sim racing championships and events, as well as in wider esports tournaments in Rocket League through the Williams Resolve team. The esports business brings the Williams name to the fore in the gaming world, far beyond its core actvitity of F1.

The Internship: Esports Broadcast Producer will support the in-house Esports Team to deliver industry-leading productions and livestreams that bring the Williams Esports brand to life. Reporting to the Head of Esports and working alongside the Esports Ops Manager and Team Manager, the role will be a key part in delivering the content project that helps to shape the future direction of the Esports brand.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Plan the streaming schedule for the esports Twitch channel, with multiple live shows each week – including pitching and storyboarding new content ideas

- Liaise with third party agencies and suppliers, building strong working relationships and managing output

- Pre-production: briefing documents for staff and talent, scheduling and call sheets, preparation of assets, and supporting technical configuration/checks

- In-production: including the set-up and operation of equipment in the on-site esports production suite

- Post-production: reviews of each stream with evaluation of success/value and recommendations for future improvements

- Configuration of broadcast and supporting software, such as Vmix, OBS, NDI, telemetry plug-ins (eg, SDK) and the ability to quickly learn new packages

- Managing team Twitch channel, including configuration, video archiving, integration of sponsor promotions, competitions and audience engagement

- Acts as a brand champion, ensuring the Williams brand is represented correctly and consistently across all content output.

- May require flexible and unsociable working hours and some travel, depending on the F1 calendar and event requirements

 

To be considered for this position, you must have:

- Proven experience in livestreaming and video editing in a Gaming/Esports context

- Relevant qualification in Esports or a related subject eg. Content/Media Production

- Strong balance of creative flair, eye for detail and project organisational skills

- Working knowledge of Twitch and streaming software such as Vmix (or equivalent) is essential

- In-depth knowledge of sim racing and familiarity working with multiple sims (primarily iRacing, ACC and F1 2021)

- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferable but not essential inc. Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop & InDesign etc.

- An enthusiastic self-starter, with an ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

- A problem solver, able to use initiative to ensure deadlines are met on time to a consistently high standard.

- Able to work flexibly with a positive can-do attitude

 

This position is based in the Esports facility at Williams Racing headquarters in Oxfordshire, England.
