Fleet Data Analysis Engineer
In this role, you will support Tesla’s firmware organization by utilizing big data sets from our vehicle fleets to quantify product performance, and thereby inform engineering efforts. You will collaborate with teams developing our data platforms, vehicle firmware, service, reliability, and others to continually expand insights into our products and improve the customer experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develop data analysis code, databases, & data visualizations.
- Develop methods for high resolution analysis of signal data from prototype vehicles, to inform firmware development and release to customers.
- Develop methods for low resolution analysis of vehicle trends at scale.
- Provide development teams insight into vehicle usage & performance in real world environments.
- Generate reports for development, management, and executive teams to inform decision making.
- Collaborate across teams to gain insights into how products will perform for customers, and advocate continual improvement.
Required Experience:
- B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- 5+ years’ experience working in a data analysis role.
- Strong experience with: python development, databases (MySql, MongoDB, etc.), data visualization
- Familiarity with: big data ecosystem (Spark, Hadoop, etc.), software development best practices, data analysis at scale
