CNC Machine Programmer / Operator

Position Overview:

Riley Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Programmer / Operator to assist with the manufacture of short run pre-production work on interesting projects from OEM to historic and modern race cars and components. Working with steel, aluminum & plastics, you will be responsible for machining components working to complex engineering drawings and CAD models.

Riley Tech continues be a family owned and operating company and is a leading design, manufacturing and engineering company supplying components to the Motorsport and Aerospace industry.

In conjunction with the machining responsibilities, you will also be required to assist the department manager and others as required. You will need to be a self-starter and a highly motivated team player.

We are looking for an employee with good attitude who enjoys working in a team environment who has a good skill level and working knowledge of machine shop manufacturing processes.

Essential Job Functions:​

  • Setting, operating, and programming a 3-Axis Mazak VTC-20B vertical machining system mill and a 2-Axis Mazak Quick Turn 20 lathe (G-code) each with Mazatrol T Plus controls or similar

  • A good working knowledge of CNC machine programming with excellent attention to detail; MasterCam software experience preferred

  • Candidate is required to work to a high standard on OEM and custom automotive, aerospace and military components

  • The ability to read and understand complex engineering technical drawings and data

  • Understand and utilize commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for manufacturing and finishing of machined components

  • Willingness to learn and do other aspects of machining production

  • Pride in delivering quality products is essential, together with a positive approach to continuous improvement

  • General day-to-day maintenance of mill and lathe

  • Excellent time management skills along with the ability to meet critical deadlines

  • A flexible attitude to overtime (short notice often necessary)

​Education/Experience:

  • Past CNC machining experience

  • Good mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, dial indicator gages and Go/No-Go gages for inspection of work performed

  • Proven track record to multi-task and successfully follow detailed instructions

  • General knowledge of safe use and operation of machine tools

  • Good working knowledge of basic math, dimensioning and tolerances

  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic
