The Opportunity:
Iron Lynx is offering an exciting opportunity for a Chief Mechanic to join our expanding and professional team. This position reports to the Lamborghini Essenza Project Manager and is located in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy.
Role responsibilities:
- Ensure the correct build-up of a race car including the lead over a team of 5 mechanics.
- Be involved in the daily, weekly, and monthly planning of build-up schedules.
- Communicate about the daily plans towards the team of mechanics and provide them a weekly plan in advance
- Support test and events activities as required.
- Always maintain a professional and clean appearance of the race cars and equipment. Similar approach for keeping the work area clean and organized and encourage others to do so.
- Keep track of a high number of parts.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced team members, to ensure quality control while promoting positive learning environment.
- Prepare job lists post and pre-event.
- Professionally representing the team on and off-track. Sharing a positive attitude and respect inside the team.
- The role will foresee activities in the workshop and abroad.
Skills required:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience as a chief mechanic in the motorsport sector.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- The ability to consistently work at the highest standards with an exceptional can-do attitude towards attention to detail.
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
- Confidence and knowledge to raise issues and develop solutions.
- Methodical and measured in approach.
- Builds rapport with team members.
- Initiative, to find ways to achieve/deliver what is required
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
