Our client, a well-established business in the Highways Maintenance industry, is seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a Highways Maintenance Engineer, you will play a vital role in the carriageway/footway resurfacing projects, implementing programmes and ensuring the smooth execution of the upcoming pot hole programme. This is a contract position with a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair road surfaces, ensuring they are safe for public use
- Implement carriageway and footway resurfacing programmes
- Conduct inspections and assessments of the highways network
- Identify and report any defects or hazards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the team to develop and deliver maintenance strategies
- Utilize CAD software for design and planning purposes
- Contribute to the development of the pot hole programme
Job Requirements
- Significant experience in highways maintenance
- Strong knowledge of carriageway and footway resurfacing techniques
- Understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to highways maintenance
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and planning purposes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to identify and report defects or hazards
- Flexibility to work on-site as well as utilizing CAD software
- Previous experience in implementing maintenance programmes is desirable
