Job Description Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC or Milford, MI three times per week, at minimum. The Role GM Motorsports is at the forefront of developing and supporting cutting-edge electronic systems for our expanding Sports Car Racing platforms, Formula 1, and production car environments. As part of our team, you will collaborate with GM engineering to create state-of-the-art electronic systems and provide active support at racetracks, virtual environments, and test facilities.

General Notes:

The Performance Engineer directly contributes to the performance of our race cars by working closely with the race engineers, engineering staff, and crew chiefs, while also working independently to identify, test, organize, analyze, validate, and communicate areas of improvement and ways in which these improvements can be realized.  Using data, research, internal and external resources, as well as other staff, the performance engineer role will develop items and help to understand and optimize configurations that will aid in the performance of the race car.

The Performance Engineer supports the Athletics department with technical projects and analysis. The Performance Engineer should have the ability to work independently, but ultimately function as part of a larger group, and is responsible for leveraging technical expertise to improve overall performance of the athletic department. Responsibilities: • Develop and manage a database of department performance, both of individual athletes and of team performance in practice and race events.
