Software Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team working to build the next generation of data tools and technologies for Red Bull Powertrains.

Working within the Technology & Analysis Tools department from our Milton Keynes campus, our mission is to develop the technology to enable our engineers to develop championship winning Formula 1 Power Units. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the technology that will define the way we interact with and exploit Power Unit data in the future.

We want to work with people who are excited by this challenge and have the talent to deliver performance to continue to win on the racetrack.

Your impact:

  • Build pipelines and apis that handle Powertrains data from simulations, rigs, engine dynos, test benches and more.

  • Develop C# client applications to analyse and present data from the team’s apis.

  • Participate in architecture, design and code reviews, providing and accepting constructive feedback.

  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of software engineers and engineers throughout the Power Unit thermodynamics, validation and trackside operations departments

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field

  • Solid grasp of fundamental computer science concepts

  • Experience programming in one or more languages

  • Commercial experience via a student placement, internship or graduate programme

  • High standards for code quality, performance, and testing

  • Excellent communication skills

Bonus points for

  • Being interested in Formula 1 racing!

  • Knowledge of programming languages like C# and Python

  • Proficiency with technologies such as GraphQL and Apache Arrow

  • Familiarity with container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes
