Mechanical Design Engineer
Our client BAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security industry, is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position based in Christchurch, with a duration of 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks to design and develop mechanical hardware components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project requirements and specifications
- Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to validate design performance and functionality
- Create and maintain accurate documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for improvements
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and recommend innovative solutions
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality designs within set deadlines
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
- Qualification in mechanical engineering
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
