In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing Avionics products and Engine sensors. You will collaborate with internal and external customers, suppliers, and engineering colleagues to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry regulations, and project deadlines. Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver compliant mechanical solutions
- Manage formal requirements and ensure validation and compliance with standards
- Create accurate work estimates and track progress throughout the project life-cycle
- Lead and motivate teams of mechanical engineers to achieve project goals
- Support the development of apprentices, interns, and non-senior engineers
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (Essential)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Design, or Aerospace Engineering or similar
- Proven experience leading teams of mechanical engineers
- Proficiency in Solidworks or AutoCAD Inventor for 3D modelling and 2D draughting
- Comprehensive understanding of configuration control and change management
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis and knowledge of its limitations/advantages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to compile reports and make data-driven decisions
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Experience in the development and use of Design FMEAs
Desirable
- Experience developing models and validating them with real-world data
- Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) FEA
- Experience working with large datasets (MathCAD, Minitab, or Python)
- Knowledge of PPAP
