Job Summary:

If you are excited to be a part of day to day department operations and procedures with a keen eye to detail then we want to hear from you! This position plays a crucial part in assisting the Inventory Lead track and manage our inventory while meeting customer shipping deadlines.

Job Role:

As part of the Supply Chain Organization and under the Supervision of the Inventory Lead, the Inventory Specialist will be responsible for activities related to the storage, movement and transfer of products, component parts, raw materials to and from in process (WIP) to inventory locations, using inventory management best practices.

Inventory 80%

  • Ensure the accurate record keeping, storage, movement and transfer of products, component parts, raw materials to in process (WIP)
  • Use best inventory practices as FIFO, proper labelling of components and inventory locations
  • Use FWC ERP:
    • To maintain inventory locations
    • Issue material components while monitoring Work Orders to detect potential Bill of Material issues and make recommendations to adjustments of inventory
    • Transfer inventory from Receiving and Bin to Bin
  • Do weekly/monthly/quarterly accurate inventory/cycle counts, A-B-C Method, as determined by Inventory Manager, ensuring inventory accuracy
  • Monitor expense and no inventory items, working with Purchasing to establish reorder points and maintain Kanban system
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area as well as inventory locations, insist and drive a culture of safety to all team members
  • Communicate Purchase Requests to Supply Chain Supervisor/Buyers
  • Communicate any WO shortages to Inventory Lead and planning
  • Participate in schedule review meetings and others as required

Shipping /Receiving 20%

  • Assist when needed with supplier pick-ups, deliveries to CF-FWC and from storage
  • Assist Shipping Receiving when possible for packaging parts for shipping, use a forklift for unloading and loading of parts to and from suppliers
  • Must adhere to health and safety procedures, and all workplace policies
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Other responsibilities/duties as assigned

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient with computers and ERP systems
  • Inventory audit and control experience preferred
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to work with different departments in the company
  • Able to operate forklift
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Available for overtime as needed
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Non-exempt, full time

Regular Hours of Work:

Normal Business Hours 7:00AM – 4:00PM, Mon-Fri; Weekends, Holidays and work hours as scheduled by Management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying conditions
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • May involve operating material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Work may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc., requiring personal protective equipment
  • Some positions may require working with small parts/components, necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
