We have an exciting opening for a Graduate Machine Learning Engineer to join our Aerodynamics Department.

Reporting to the Lead Data Scientist – Aerodynamics, you will help pioneer the development of machine learning models that improve our aerodynamic development process.

Working collaboratively as part of a small team, you will be applying your thoughtful and curious nature to a range of stimulating challenges. By interpreting trends and developing understanding, you will create innovative solutions to complex problems. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.

As a Graduate Machine Learning Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and supporting Machine Learning (ML) models to improve our aerodynamic development process

  • Setting-up robust and automated pipelines for data gathering, cleansing and wrangling

  • Using data gathered from a range of sources, including Computational Fluid Dynamics, wind-tunnel measurements and vehicle testing, to develop and validate ML models

  • Communicating progress while working on multiple projects in parallel

  • Proactively coordinating the completion of work items

  • Providing assistance to team members who are using ML tools or engaging in data science projects

This role is office-based, at our campus in Brackley, United Kingdom

To be successful you will have:

Essential:

  • A master’s degree, or above, in a relevant discipline. Examples could include: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering (eg MCompSci, MMath, MPhys, MEng, MSc)

  • Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques Understanding of computational statistics

  • Experience using python

  • Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)

  • Experience writing, developing, or modifying ML-based software processes, through a university project or working in industry

Desirable:

  • Available to start in third quarter of 2024

  • Proficiency in MATLAB or C#

  • Experience with MLOps

  • Understanding of Git

  • Experience with message broker systems (RabbitMQ and or Kafka)

Whilst a prior involvement in motorsport is not essential, a passion for Formula 1 is highly desirable.
