The Coordinator, Broadcasting manages the broadcast programming function across NASCAR’s three national series and ARCA. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create and maintain the primary programming grid for practice, qualifying and race telecasts across all broadcast partners to ensure schedule maximization and the avoidance of programming overlaps.
  • Day-to-day oversight of partner-specific scheduling needs (season-long planning and week-to-week adjustments).
  • Manage and coordinate weekly programming conditions and weather plans with network partners, tracks and competition and effectively communicate conditions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as the on-site Broadcasting contact for select race events.
  • Coordinate and participate in weekly meetings between internal and external industry stakeholders.
  • Create and distribute weekly event logistics materials to broadcast production groups.
  • Create and edit presentation materials and documents using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Adobe, and other programs as needed. 
  • Additional projects, as assigned to support broadcast partnerships and NASCAR’s growth initiatives.
  • Travel: Approximately 25%, including weekends

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university and a minimum of three (3) years of sports league or television/broadcast experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  •  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient on all Company provided hardware and software, including Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Well organized and be flexible to shifting priorities in an often high-paced and high stress environment.
