The Company
Nitron are a manufacturer of high quality suspension products specialising in cars and motorcycles for aftermarket and OEM applications, based in Witney, Oxfordshire.
We have an immediate vacant position for a CNC Programmer/ Machinist within our newly built, clean and bright Head Office where we design, manufacture and assemble our products. We pride ourselves in being a supplier to top level motorsport teams all over the world and export over half our products. We also have distribution and assembly operations in Japan, the USA and Asia.
The Role - Mazak Integrex operation
We have an amazing opportunity for an individual who wants to create, implement, grow and own our in house CNC machining operation. We are currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic self- starter who has a passion for developing and improving new processes.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;
- Creation of CNC programs using a combination of Hypermill and Mazatrol specifically for our Integrex i100 bar fed machine.
- Creation of Job Pack including Tool List, Setting Sheet, Work Instructions, Inspection Criteria.
- Prove out processes.
- Maintaining relationship with tooling and consumable suppliers on a regular basis.
- Tool selection and improvement.
- Work with engineering to optimize designs for manufacturing. (DFM)
- Train potential machine operators to assist with running the CNC machines.
- Ensure machines are kept in working condition, in line with H&S Standards.
- Run the Mazak Integrex i100s and the smaller Hardinge lathe to create small development and medium size batches of production parts.
Skills and Experience
- Must be competent in programming the Integrex using hyperMILL and Mazatrol,
- Experience with the production and improvement of HyperMILL programs is beneficial but not essential.
- Must have experience with tooling selection, particularly with Aluminum and stainless steel.
- Must have experience with both milling and turning work.
- IT Literacy, proficient in Microsoft office.
- Sound understanding of DFM and Geometric tolerances.
- Experience with Hainbuch collet system is desirable.
This position is available immediately, with a full hand-over from our current machining operator.
